Patna: A 26-year old police constable deputed at the residence of Sadar SDO in Chhajjubagh in Patna killed himself on Friday morning by blowing his head from his service rifle.

The victim was identified as Keshav Pratap, a native of Arwal.

The horrific incident took place around 10:00 am at the official residence of SDO Kumari Anupam Singh.

According to the reports, Keshav Pratap had earlier returned from a yoga camp where he had accompanied the SDO to take part in the International Yoga Day. Later, when the SDO was out on duty, he was seen talking to someone on his cell phone.

At the time of the incident, several workers were present in the front yard doing some repair and renovation works. Suddenly they heard a loud bang and when they followed the sound, they found Keshav's dead body immersed in his own blood.

Blood on the ground shows the place where a police jawan committed suicide on Friday.

Authorities are investigating the case from various angles including domestic dispute. Some said he was to get married in November and perhaps he wanted out of it.

The victim leaves behind his father who is employed as a guard at a cement factory in Aurangabad, his mother, younger brother who is in a college in Arwal, and a sister who lives in Rajasthan.
