Patna: A man in his early twenties in Patna shot himself to death inside a car following a row with his girlfriend on Sunday afternoon.

The incident took place in Sri Krishna Nagar. The deceased was identified as Rupak Kumar.

As reported, Rupak, the son of a retired army jawan and a student of B.Sc., arrived at his girlfriend's house in Sri Krishna Nagar on Sunday afternoon but left soon in his car. Near the S K Nagar Park, he pulled over by the side of the road, stuck a pistol to his head and pulled the trigger.

He died instantly.

Hearing the gunshot, local people in the area rushed to the parked vehicle where they saw the man limped over the steering wheel covered in his own blood.

Police found his identity card from his pocket and based on the information in it, informed the tragic news to his family members who insisted Rupak was murdered as he was not the kind of man who would kill himself.

Police also found his cell phone in the car that revealed that before killing himself, he had been video-chatting with his girlfriend on WhatsApp.

Authorities were planning to interview the girlfriend who hails from Siwan. It is not clear how Rupak got his hands on a pistol since he did not have a criminal mindset or background.

The deceased's father is currently posted in Jharkhand as a SAP jawan while his older brother works is an engineer in a private company in Delhi.
