Patna: Criminal-turned-independent legislator from Mokama Anant Singh on Thursday was brought to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to give his voice sample in an ongoing investigation involving a leaked audio clip in which a man is heard discussing a plan to kill two people in his constituency.

As reported, the voice in the audio clip allegedly belonged to Singh who is heard talking about a plan to kill one Bhola Singh and his brother Vivek Singh, both residents of Barh where Singh has huge influence over the local politicians and gangs of criminals.

Singh arrived at the FSL lab located within Sardar Patel Bhawan at 11:45 am amid dozens of his supporters who formed a circle around him to create a shield for the legislator lest someone tried to inflict bodily damage to him.

Sources said the Mokama don was asked to speak multiple times the exact same sentence that was heard in the audio clip in order to make a clear determination about the identity of the person in the tape.

Talking to the reporters, Singh maintained his innocence saying he was being framed by the Nitish government to settle old scores.

"Bhola Singh has a reward on his head for Rs. 50,000 but the police are not going after him. Why is that? It is because he is being protected by Janata Dal – U leader Neeraj Kumar and the Bihar police," the legislator said.

Three men were already in police custody in the attempted murder case of Bhola and Vivek Singh.
