Patna: Ravi Kishan, popular Bhojpuri film star and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, at a press conference in Patna on Monday said he was retiring from 'dance-song films' and will only do movies with social message and films based on the life of patriotic Indians.
"I am done doing films that just revolve around songs and dances. From now on, I will only act in meaningful movies that have strong social messages or are based on the life of noted Indians like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Swami Vivekanand, etc.," the actor announced stating he would also be acting in films based on prominent personalities of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
Kishan, who was a member of the Congress Party prior to joining the BJP in 2017, said that he would soon embark on a project based on Modi's life that would entirely be in Bhojpuri language.
Like other BJP leaders who know that their future in the party largely depends on their complete and unfettered acquiescence to PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, the MP from Gorakhpur credited his rise in politics to Modi, Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath saying they were his mentors and it was due to their blessings he was able to make a place for himself in the state and national politics.
The actor also took the obligatory shot at the Gandhi family saying the nation was facing a number of problems today because of a number of bad decisions taken by India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
On the issue of Article 370, 35A, and Teen Talaq, Kishan said that what Prime Minister Modi had done in the first 100 days of his second term, no other Prime Minister in the past had been able to do.
"Under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India is not afraid of Pakistan but Pakistan is scared of India," he said.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
