Car Rally to Promote Road Safety and Motor Vehicle Rules

Patna: District Magistrate Kumar Ravi in Patna on Friday flagged off the Indo-Nepal Friendship Car Rally to promote road safety and to spread awareness about the new Motor Vehicle Act.

The rally consisting of over 50 participants from a number of states, including 15 vehicles with all-female driver and crew, was flagged off from Gyan Bhawan.

Participants will promote the usage of seat belt and helmet, and highlight the importance of following safety rules and safe driving practices, officials said adding the rally, after going through a number of cities in Bihar, will conclude at Simra in Nepal.

At least 20 Nepalese drivers will also join the rally from Birganj, officials said.

This is the 17th such event organized by the Magadh Motor Sports Club in Patna.

During the entire expedition, no plastic product will be used by any driver or crew member, club president Pranav Pratap Shahi said.
