BJP Leaders Wash Statues of Leaders in Patna

Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in Patna on Wednesday cleaned the statues of leaders that make the landscape of the state capital to mark the 103rd birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, one of the founder-members of the erstwhile Jan Sangh that later morphed into the current form of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Among those who were seen cleaning statues at Patna roundabouts and intersections were BJP leader Ram Kripal Yadav, Nitin Navin, Arun Kumar Sinha, and others.

The party also held a function in Patna to observe Upadhyaya's birthday where Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi announced the government's decision to install a statue of the leader in the state capital on February 11 next year to coincide with the 51st death anniversary of Upadhyaya.

Modi further said that the government would install statues of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Arun Jaitley, the Finance Minister in the Narendra Modi government who recently passed away of a series of health-related issues, in the next few months.

The function was attended by Dr. C. P. Thakur, R K Sinha (MP), legislators Arun Kumar Sinha, Sanjeev Chaurasia, Radha Mohan Sharma and other BJP leaders.
