Patna: The women of Punjabi Biradari in Patna on Thursday celebrated Karwa Chauth on a grand scale at Lala Lajpat Rai Bhawan to pray for the long life of their husbands.
More than a hundred women, along with their husbands started to arrive at the venue early in the day while maintaining a day-long fast as part of the tradition.
Shortly the puja began as women gathered around the priest in a circle to pray for the longevity of their husbands. This was followed by music and dance in which even husbands join their wives for a playful time.
Later, after seeing the moon through a 'chalni' (filter), the husbands helped their wives drink water signifying the break of the day-long fast.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
