Patna: Brazilian ambassador to India André Aranha Correa do Lago on Saturday met with Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan and discussed his nation's desire to collaborate with the state government in the area of farming and agriculture.
The ambassador apprised the Governor that a team of experts from his country had visited Bihar last year to conduct a preliminary survey of the agricultural scenario in the state and after conducting a number of studies, has decided to develop a mutual trade partnership with the Bihar government.
Correa do Lago also expressed his nation's desire to exchange know-how and technology with Bihar in the field of Animal Resources and Development.
He also exonerated Bihar for the cause of pollution in the state saying Bihar barely has any industry in the state so it could not be held responsible for the poor air quality index.
"It is due to the actions of states bordering Bihar," he said.
The Brazilian ambassador also met with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar where the latter apprised him of his various schemes including 'Jal Jeevan Hariyali' – Kumar's latest in a series of similar other plans he has launched in the past 15 years.
