Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who has dedicated the last five or six years of his political life targeting the members of the Lalu Prasad Yadav family, has now find a new punching bag in former Janata Dal-U leader Prashant Kumar who he continues to bash for speaking against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Registration of Citizens (NRC), the two BJP-sponsored law that has polarized the nation for the last several months.

Speaking at a press conference in Patna on Wednesday, Modi said Kishor was unable to come to terms to the fact that Bihar was once again being ruled by the NDA and not by Lalu-led Mahagathbandhan in the state.

"PK (Prashant Kishor) is secretly working for the 'Lalten Party' (RJD). On one hand, he calls Chief Minister Nitish Kumar a father-like figure and on the other hand, he calls him 'Pichhlaggu' (a sycophant). What kind of a person does that?" the BJP leader asked.

Modi reminded Kishor that Nitish Kumar broke the relationship with the RJD due to rampant corruption within the Yadav family and not because of his alleged lust for power.

"Nearly every member of the Lalu family is facing corruption charges which led Nitish Kumar to leave the alliance. Till date, Tejaswi Yadav has not given any satisfactory answer to the corruption charges against him. In 2017, the BJP gave unconditional support to the JD-U so Bihar avoids an unnecessary mid-term election while at the same time, has a leadership under the NDA that is capable of keeping corruption at bay," he said.

Once again, training his gun at Prashant Kishor, Modi said that the former JD-U leader was unhappy with the return of the NDA government in Bihar so he began hobnobbing with Lalu Prasad Yadav to broker a deal with Nitish Kumar.

"When that did not work out, Prashant Kishor began targeting while hiding behind the excuse of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Registration of Citizens (NRC)," he said.

Meanwhile, PK responded to Modi by saying that the BJP needs to decide who was there hero - Mahatma Gandhi or his killer Nathuram Godse.

"Yes, I am troubled by the JDU-BJP alliance in Bihar. Nitish Kumar once was a fierce critic of the supporters of Godse but now the JD-U maintains a total silence in the parliament when Godse's supporters openly speak favorably about him. To form a coalition government is one thing but to completely surrender to one party is another. This is what bothers me about the current leadership in the JD-U," the political strategist-turned-politician said.
