Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Chirag Paswan in Patna on Saturday offered advice to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Begusarai Giriraj Singh to keep a check on his utterances that has in the past gotten the NDA in trouble both rhetorically and politically.

"Giriraj Singh should try to learn a lesson from the recent Delhi election result. He is constantly making controversial statements that only serve to divide the nation on social and communal grounds while creating a state of anarchy in the nation. We believe in going along with all communities and religions and this is what we expect from the top BJP leadership," Paswan said.

Questioning the motive of Giriraj Singh whose anti-Muslim agenda is not a secret from anyone, Paswan, the son of Ram Vilas Paswan, said that he could not understand the mindset of the BJP leader who continues to cause damage to the NDA putting senior party leaders in an awkward situation leaving them no choice but to apologize.

"Even Amit Shah has admitted that Singh's statement has hurt the party and it is because of his utterances that BJP lost election in Delhi," he said.

A few weeks ago, BJP national president JP Nadda had also directed Singh to save his breath and stop making divisive statements that continues to come back to haunt the party in state elections.

As reported, Singh, who has a long history of making incendiary statements designed to further divide Hindus and Muslims, in Purnia on Wednesday had said that the fathers of the Indian Independence (namely, Gandhi, Nehru et al) had made a grave error by not kicking out all Muslims to Pakistan.

"Our forefathers made a grave mistake of not sending all Muslims to Pakistan. We are now paying huge price for these errors," he had said.
