Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) state president Jagadanand Singh, at a press conference in Patna on Wednesday said that those people who had a history of insulting and demeaning Bihar were not sitting in Delhi running the country.

"We gave them a peaceful Bihar; today the crime in the state has reached a new height and youths are being misled by those who are now responsible for running the state. If the Chief Minister wants to have a debate with us on this topic, he should name the time and place and we would be more than happy to engage with him," the RJD president said.

Jagadanand's statement comes a day after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar took a shot at his two predecessors and RJD top leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi saying the thugs and goons were running a parallel government in the state during their regimes when murder, robbery, kidnapping, and mass killing were considered normal and something that just happened everywhere.

"Today, we have the rule of law in Bihar where we neither defend criminals nor entrap anyone in fake cases," Kumar said adding crime in Bihar was still relatively low in comparison to other states and the current national average.
