Patna: Hindi film and television star Shekhar Suman on Monday met with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejaswi Yadav and held an hour-long meeting behind close door to discuss the political landscape in Bihar.

Suman, who earlier in the day met with the parents of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput at their residence in Rajiv Nagar in Patna to offer his consolation to them on the tragic death of their son, reached 10 Circular Road, the official residence of former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, where he met with a number of RJD leaders and held a closed-door pow-wow with Yadav, the de facto president of the party.

At a joint press conference that was also attended by film-maker Sandeep Singh, a close friend of Rajput, Suman demanded a full CBI probe into the actor's alleged suicide saying he smelt fish in the whole suicide story saying only a full investigation by the nation's premier investigative agency, CBI, would bring truth to the surface.

Suman, who also hails from Patna, said that there were hardly any words exchanged between him and Rajput's parents who, he said, were still struggling to come to terms about the tragic death of their son.

"They remain in a state of extreme shock. I find silence one of the best ways to deal with a tragedy of this proportion," the star of many films and successful television shows who also lost his 11-year-old son to a serious heart ailment, said.

He further said that he has launched a social media campaign called 'Justice for Sushant' to build pressure on the Indian government to launch a CBI probe in the death of the actor.

It may be recalled that Suman fought for Lok Sabha seats from Patna Saheb on a Congress ticket but lost to his fellow-Patna'ite and actor Shatrughan Sinha in 2009 by a huge margin.

He denied his meeting with Tejaswi Yadav had anything to do with the Assembly polls that are to be held later this year.

"This was a courtesy call and should not be seen as political," he told the reporters.
