Recently a video of Bettiah Medical College where a Corona patient had revealed the truth of the medical facility had gone viral. He told that there was no cleanliness in the hospital at all. Dogs were present in the ward and the hospital lacked adequate doctors and nurses.

A day later this patient died.

This is not an isolated case in Bihar where such cases have become very common.

In Nalanda Medical College and Hospital (NMCH), the dead body of a Corona patient was left with other Corona patients being treated in the ward. And in Katihar, a case was found where a patient died because the medical staff failed to provide an oxygen cylinder to him.

With more than 32000 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bihar, the alarming rate it is increasing has posed a big challenge for the health officials.

Recently, a central team warned the low testing ratio of COVID-19 in Bihar where it was found only 3243 tests were being carried out for each million. This is the lowest in comparison to the national average.

Central team has suggested to raise the RT PCR testing in Bihar and also directed it to convert temporary hospitals into COVID-19 hospitals.

Since many of the private hospitals have closed their doors for patients complaining about fever and cough, it is of utmost important for the government to provide basic diagnosis and treatment to the patients.
