Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan, at a press conference in Patna on Thursday, ruled out supporting Congress in future elections saying any party that joins hands with the Janata Dal – U in Bihar would not have his party's support.

Paswan, who was accompanied by his son Chirag who he is grooming to take his place in future, said that he had no interest in supporting any party that supports Nitish-led JD-U.

With Congress doing everything to cultivate relationship with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the aftermath of the split in the NDA in Bihar, it was obvious Paswan's comments were targeted at the Congress.

He, however, was quick to add that he preferred Congress aligning with his party and Lalu-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. "It is up to the Congress to decide which way it wishes to go – with the LJP-RJD or the JD-U," he said.

Shifting his aim towards Nitish Kumar, the former Union Minister lampooned the Chief Minister's 'sudden love' for secularism saying Kumar, by clipping his fingernails, wants to portray himself as a martyr.

"By dumping BJP, he wants to be seen as a secular leader. People, however, are not stupid. They know what game Nitish Kumar is playing and will teach him appropriate lesson in the next Parliamentary and state elections," Paswan said raising doubts about the Chief Minister's aversion to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

"When Muslims were being killed in Gujarat, what was Nitish Kumar doing? He was the Railway Minister at the time so why didn't he resign from the Vajpayee cabinet? He also talked about BJP leaders insulting Advani when he himself was responsible for throwing off George Fernandes from the party," the LJP leader said.

Exhorting Nitish Kumar to 'expose' the BJP leaders in his cabinet as he had threatened to do so a few days ago, Paswan wanted to know what was stopping him from talking about the 'sins' of the BJP ministers if he had any information on it.
