The divided house in the UPA in Bihar would ensure weakening of Lalu's RJD and eventually less bargaining power for Lalu in the next government if the UPA comes to power. Remember that Congress has little to lose because it holds only three seats in Bihar.

The order of the court to police to charge Lalu for the fallen bridge gives falls impression to victims that Laloo was the responsible party. However, the facts do not support such an assertion.
