During sauntering every morning in the Botanical Garden, Patna, I was impressed to see a variety of unidentified flora having botanical and medicinal significance. It is imperative to tag the names of all those plants located by the side roads around the periphery like animals, creepers and birds in the right side of the roads.
Dear PD (excellent new site)
Please could you highlight the hard work & struggle to keep Bihar's name in a positive light in the web.
In this tough time through which all Bihar is going through to fight flood, your esteemed web site can contribute positively by inviting its readers to donate to the flood victims. I have the following suggestions:
It is said that you can’t control what you can’t measure. If you can’t control, you can’t succeed. Indeed there should be some measurement of what you are doing and what you have achieved.
Saibal Gupta, member secretary, Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI), Patna is pretty optimistic about Bihar and so am I. In a recent column in Indian Express, Mr. Gupta writes, “The grammar of politics is changing in Bihar. Election hereafter cannot be fought on the basis of the earlier benchmarks of muscle and firepower.
One of the major reasons for the migration of people from Bihar has been education. Gradually people came to realise that the colleges in Bihar were losing their sheen in terms of quality and also the courses being offered did not keep up with the changing demands of society.
Mr. Dipankar Bhattacharya is a good communist but he is a misguided one. He advocates many things of which none is in people's interest. He leads the organization that preaches violence and encourages the rank and file to get killed to prove a point.
The Chandragupta Institute of Management in Patna (CIMP), inaugurated by Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari is indeed a major step towards improving education scenario in Bihar. It is painful to point out that in recent decades the educational condition of Bihar was going through from bad to worse. The mass exodus of students to other states in search of quality education in various faculties was not only a matter of great shame but also ruining the revenue of the state.
In Delhi we have private agencies from where one can have young girls as 'helps' to work in the houses.
Every morning while I sit and read my newspaper in my balcony I see these young girls working, very often being scolded by the lady of the house. I have learnt some of them also get pregnant, by who's "grace" they only know.
I belong to Bhagalpur district of Bihar. I visit to my home town at least twice in a year. Its nice to see Bihar changing . I have visited all most all states of India regarding the national and international conferences in artificial intelligence.
The great W. Shakespeare has once famously said "There are some people in society and nation whose life becomes an integral part of the contemporary history". Bihar has been the birth place of some of the most legendary statesmen whose dauntless determination and utmost integrity made them the architects of modern India and Bihar respectively. Among those eminent statesmen was the first Finance Minister, Bihar Vibhuti Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha, one of the makers of modern Bihar.
I was immensely pained by reading Mr. Nalin Verma's report in The Telegraph, Calcutta Edition, dated 31st May 2008. Mr. Nalin Verma reported that Shitikanth is the first student from Bihar to top IIT JEE exam.
