Thank you for publishing the feature about my younger sister Prof. Papiya Ghosh who, along with her elderly maid Malti Devi, was brutally murdered in her house in Pataliputra Colony, Patna, on the night of 2 December 2006.

In sheer barbarity and viciousness, these murders remain unparalleled crimes against defenseless women in the heart of the state capital. Yet while media reports hinted at a mastermind behind the heinous crimes, this figure remains to be exposed.

Has the nexus between politics and crime in the state really been put to an end?

Though the Patna police has done a commendable job by arresting the absconding criminals named in the case, nothing has been heard since about their prosecution. Prof. Papiya Ghosh, who had dedicated her entire life to the cause of higher education in Bihar, and Malti Devi, deserve full justice, which still has not been delivered to them.
