Patna: Determined to bring down the Lalu dynasty in Bihar that has emerged as one of the most wealthy and politically influential force in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushil Kumar Modi, at a press conference in Patna on Tuesday, revealed more damaging evidences against the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) first family claiming Rabri Devi, the wife of Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Bihar Chief Minister, was the owner of 18 flats in Patna that she acquired when her husband was the Railway Minister of India.

Stating these flats have the value of roughly Rs. 20 crore, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar said that the apartment complex was named after Lalu Prasad Yadav's mother Marachchia Devi.

"Rabri Devi also got land in Jalalpur and Sheikhpura in Patna transferred in her name after Lalu Prasad Yadav gave jobs in the railways to the actual owners of these lands. In 2011, Lalu family signed an agreement with Shreya Construction's Amarendra Sinha to build an apartment complex on these lands," Modi said.

The BJP leader also accused the Lalu family of engaging in money laundering when the RJD chief used the Awami Cooperative Bank officials to issue fake bank checks to evade tax in the land deals.

"Lalu returned the favor by making the chairman of the said bank an MLC," he said.
