Patna: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha, while talking to reporters in Patna at a function to mark the third anniversary of the formation of the NDA government at the Center, said that he had worked very hard to develop his constituency of Patna Saheb and he hoped people will be able to appreciate his works.

"I completely devoted myself for the development of my constituency. When I needed the support of the state government, I sought its help and when I needed support of the Central government, I left no stone unturned in getting all the help I could get from it in order to resolve issues faced by people in my constituency," Sinha, who has often been criticized by his detractors for going AWOL after being elected MP from Patna Saheb, said on Wednesday.

With Bihar leaders, particularly those in the Lalu family, facing a slew of corruption charges, Sinha said that during his entire political life, he was never accused of any kind of corrupt behavior because his only goal was to serve his constituency with full dedication and love.

Condemning the brutal murder of a 7-year old boy from Bihar at the Ryan International School in Gurgaon on September 8, Sinha said that the family members of the victim deserved full justice in the case and hoped the government would act expeditiously in this matter and throw the book on those who perpetrated this heinous crime.

Avoiding talking about the recent political development in Bihar in the wake of the collapse of the Grand Alliance and the subsequent homecoming of Nitish Kumar into the NDA fold, the BJP leader said that while he still thought Kumar was capable of becoming the Prime Minister of India, he needed required numbers to fulfill his dream.

Sinha denied he aspired getting a place in the Narendra Modi cabinet saying he never wanted a ministry nor he ever asked for it.
