Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) President and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, at a press conference in Patna on Saturday, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying it was due to his leadership that India had gained so much respect in the world.

"The latest Moody's report and Pew survey has established beyond the shadow of any doubt that Prime Minister Modi's policies are very popular among all sections of the society and the stature of India has skyrocketed on the world stage," the LJP chief said.

Supporting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on his initiatives on eradicating child marriage and dowry system in Bihar, Paswan said he would extend his support to the Janata Dal – U leader and would ask his party leaders and supporters to cooperate with the Chief Minister in his attempt to achieve these goals.

The LJP leader said he welcomed Nitish Kumar's demand for reservation in outsourced jobs as he himself had been demanding reservation in private sector for a long time.

On Gujarat Assembly elections, Paswan said that the BJP was poised to win big since there was really no contest in the state.

"I have personally campaigned in the state and I am confident the BJP will emerge victorious on more seats than ever before," he said.
