Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday met with the family members of slain CRPF jawan Mujahid Khan of Bhojpur district who gave his life fighting for his nation during an encounter with a Pakistan-based terrorist outfit in Jammu and Kashmir last month.
Kumar met with the family members at his residence on 1 Anne Marg in the presence of Ashok Kumar Chowdhary, former Congress state President who recently quit the party and joined Janata Dal – U with full blessings of the Chief Minister.
It may be recalled that the Khan's family had earlier rejected an ex-gratia payment of Rs. 5 lakh by the Bihar government saying when an army jawan is killed, he is given a compensation of Rs. 11 lakh so why discriminate against the CRPF jawans.
Expressing his grief for the personal loss of the Khan family, Kumar directed Principal Secretary (Home) Amir Subhani to extend all help to them and make sure the family was well taken care of.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
