Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) state president Ramchandra Purvey, at a press conference in Patna on Monday, accused the Modi administration at the Center of ignoring the interests of Bihar despite making tall promises in his electoral campaign four years ago.

"The entire state of Bihar is disappointed in the way Prime Minister Narendra Modi has treated Bihar. He has failed to keep any of the promises including granting special economic status to Bihar without which it has been determined that the state cannot develop economically," Purvey said.

The RJD leader also slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for not being forceful enough in his demand for special status saying once he ditched the Grand Alliance and went back to the NDA, Kumar went soft on the issue.

Purvey also blamed the Modi government at the Center for ignoring Bihar's demand of according central university status to Patna University and abandoning all railway projects in the state despite promising to launch double engine factory in Bihar.

Accusing the NDA government of 'killing democracy' and ushering dictatorship in the nation, the RJD state president said that Modi was the Prime Minister of the BJP and the RSS alone because of his anti-poor, anti-Dalit, and anti-minority policies.
