Patna: While focusing on possible cracks within the NDA coalition in Bihar and boasting about the ever-increasing expanse of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led Mahagathbandhan in the state, the RJD leaders on Friday had a moment of rude awakening when its main ally Congress Party told them to cool the rhetoric down saying there was no need to get agitated and loose lips may not bode too well for the anti-NDA coalition in Bihar.

Congress leader Premchand Mishra, addressing directly to Tejaswi Yadav, the heir-apparent to the vast RJD political and business empire who had earlier said that all door in the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan in Bihar were permanently closed to Janata Dal – U leader and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar after he walked out of the coalition in July 2017, said that there was no need for anyone to make such extreme rhetoric as they were only going to harm the anti-NDA coalition.

Mishra was not alone in his rebuke to Tejaswi Yadav. Congress leader Shakil Ahmed Khan also offered his advice to the RJD leader saying one must not show callousness and rash behavior as nothing was permanent in politics.

"What seems impossible today may be very much possible tomorrow. Stubbornness and rigid attitude is not good in politics. 2019 elections are around the corner and we need to work hard to galvanize all secular forces instead of alienating them" he said.

Reacting strongly to Congress rebukes, RJD legislator Bhai Virendra fired back at Mishra and Khan saying they were being misguided by the forces in the NDA.

"These people do not speak for the Congress. Only Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will decide who gets to join the Mahagathbandhan. Rest of the Congress leaders should refrain from making stupid statements," the RJD leader said.
