Patna: Communist Party of India-ML general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, speaking after a rally against Modi government at the Center and the Gujarat government led by Vijay Rupani, blamed the two for unleashing violence against Hindi-speaking people.
"While the Biharis and people of UP were being beaten up and brutalized by the locals in Gujarat, both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rupani were looking the other way. They did nothing to stop the violence and now people of Bihar and UP will teach lessons to them in the coming Lok Sabha elections," Bhattacharya said.
Predicting a huge loss of the NDA in the 2019 Parliamentary polls, the CPI-ML leader said that the voters were watching everything and had made up their mind to punish the NDA for failing to check attacks on migrant workers in Gujarat.
Rubbishing NDA's claim that Biharis were returning to Bihar and UP in large number on account of Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath festivals, Bhattacharya said that if the claim of the Rupani government that Congress leader Alpesh Thakor was responsible for violence against Biharis and UP'ite then what was stopping the Gujarat government from arresting him?
"Is it because Thakor is acting with hand in glove with the Gujarat government?" he asked.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
