Patna: Congress leaders in Patna on Monday kicked off a roadshow to drum up support for the February 3 ‘Jan Akanksha Rally’ of party chief Rahul Gandhi that is to be held at the sprawling Gandhi Maidan in the state capital.

The road show was flagged off by Congress Bihar in-charge Shakti Singh Gohil from near Patna College on Ashok Rajpath in the presence of state party president Madan Mohan Jha.

With a large crowd following it, the roadshow ended up at the opposite end of the road at Sadaqat Ashram near Kurji where party leaders urged people of Bihar to converge at the Gandhi Maidan on February 3 to make Rahul Gandhi’s rally a mega success.

Earlier, a similar roadshow was organized in Mokama in the presence of notorious criminal Anant Singh who is out on bail and has expressed his desire to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Mokama seat.

“Anant Singh is highly popular in the Barh-Mokama area and will be an asset to the party,” former Congress minister Akhilesh Singh said.
