Lucknow: Disgruntled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shatrughan Sinha, who was not at the NDA Sankalp Rally in Patna on Sunday to hear the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, talking to reporters in Lucknow, said that no matter what, he was contesting the Lok Sabha election from his Patna Saheb constituency.
“Situation chahey jo bhi ho, location wohi hogi” (Whatever the situation may be, I will be contesting the election from the same seat),” Sinha told the reporters in Lucknow where he is rumored to be in talk with Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for a Lok Sabha ticket from Patna Saheb.
The actor-turned-politician-turned-fierce-critic-of-his-own-party further said that the Narendra Modi-Amit Shah duo at the top of the BJP was trying to marginalize him for speaking truth but he was not going to cow down just to secure a party ticket.
“I have always believed in telling the truth and my criticisms against the Modi government and its failed policies are made only after careful thoughts and discussions with other senior party leaders. It does not matter whether the BJP gives me a ticket or not, I will be running from the same place where I have always won with the largest margin than anyone else in the fray,” he said adding the suspense about his political future would soon come to an end.
Sinha skirted a question about the possible entrance into politics by his wife Poonam Sinha saying only time would tell what was in her future.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
