Patna: Filmmaker Ajay Kumar Singh, at a press conference at Hotel Maurya in Patna on Wednesday, asked the people of Bihar to go see his latest film 'Family of Thakurganj' that opens in theaters nationwide on July 19 saying it was a social drama/thriller that deals with two clashing social ideologies.

"This is a family-oriented film that presents our cultural values in a completely new light. In fact, it's a story of two brothers who believe in separate ideologies and this conflict is presented through a beautiful story played by an ensemble of very talented actors including Jimmy Shergil, Yashpal Sharma, Mahi Gill, Saurabh Shukla, Mukesh Tiwari, and Patna's very own and India's Next Top Model winner Praniti Roy Prakash who will be making her film debut with 'Family of Thakurganj'," Singh said.

The story has been written by Dilip Shukla whose other Bollywood credits include Dabang, Udaan, Ghayal, and Damini.

Speaking on the occasion, Prakash said that she had always dreamed of becoming an actor and this film was making her dream come true.

"My character Suman in the film is of a self-assured, confident woman living in Lucknow. I am hoping people of Bihar will like my role," she said.

The film has been shot in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh, said filmmaker Nandish Singh.
