Patna: His obsession to remain in media spotlight by filing hundreds of frivolous lawsuits against celebrities, politicians, and even world leaders appears to be the beginning of the downfall of Sudhir Kumar Ojha, a failed lawyer from Muzaffarpur whose beef against big names include Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan, social activist Anna Hazare, and even Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The police in Muzaffarpur on Wednesday began proceedings to book Ojha for filing over 700 cases against people of all persuasions that were designed to seek personal glorification while lacking in any substance or evidence.
51-year old Ojha who received a law degree from SKJ Law College in Muzaffarpur and about whom PatnaDaily published an article way back in 2015, had earlier filed sedition cases against 49 well-known personalities including noted historian Ramchandra Guha, actors Aparna Sen, Konkana Sen, Soumitra Chatterjee, movie-makers Shyam Benegal, Mani Ratnam, Anurag Kashyap, and classical singer Shubha Mugdal for signing an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi raising concerns over growing number of incidents involving mob lynching.
On Wednesday, Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manoj Kumar Sinha ordered the closure of all 49 cases stating the police had plenty of evidence to suggest the lawsuit had no merit and were filed with the court with the sole intention to seek personal glory in the national media.
The SSP further said that Ojha will be booked for filing frivolous cases that wasted valuable time of the court and the district machinery.
"Ojha failed to produce any supporting document or evidence to back his claim so the case against the defendants have been closed," Sinha said adding Ojha will be booked under Sections 182 and 211 that pertains to providing false information or making false charges against someone.
Among others who have been the target of Ojha in the past include Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Preity Zinta, Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aliya Bhatt, Salman Khan, Vidya Balan, Sushil Kumar Modi, AArvind Kejriwal, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi, Sushil Shinde, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Asaram Bapu, and Raj Thackeray.
Incidentally, he is yet to win any case in the court.BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
