Patna: Putting all elected leaders from Bihar to shame, former Member of Parliament from Madhepura Pappu Yadav on Tuesday took the matter in his own hand and took part in the fogging process to end the menace of mosquitoes in the state capital in the aftermath of epic flooding of the city due to a failed underground drainage system.
Yadav, the leader of the Jan Adhikar Party (JAP), accusing the district administration of failing to free Patna from water-logging and mosquito menace, organized his own fogging drive in Mandiri and other parts in the western parts of the city.
"We are covering all those areas that the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has failed to visit despite two weeks since the water receded in these localities. With the help of ordinary citizens and members of my party, we will continue the fogging drive until we have made sure Patna is free of dengue disease," he said.
Yadav, who also took part in many relief operations in Patna after rainwater flooded the city exposing the failure of the Nitish government, slammed Bihar Health Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mangal Pandey for issuing fake data on number of dengue patients in Patna hospitals and deaths caused by it. He also accused the government of massive corruption in the flood relief operation and various health camps in the state.
