Patna: Known for overselling his influence on Bihar politics, former Bihar Chief Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi on Tuesday met with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar behind closed door giving rise to speculations of him once again getting ready to change his political allegiance.

When asked about the content of his meeting with the Janata Dal-U chief, Manjhi, often described as the 'accidental Chief Minister', walked away from the reporters saying he had nothing to say at this time.

The HAM leader had earlier accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leaders of ignoring other members of the Grand Alliance saying the Mahagathbandhan had reduced to be an alliance of one party, namely RJD, at the cost of other parties who were part of the anti-NDA group in the last state and national elections in Bihar.

"There is no doubt the RJD is the 'big brother' in the Mahagathbandhan but it is failing to live up to the expectations of a big brother. If it continued to act this irresponsibly, we will be forced to take some drastic measures come April," he had said on Monday.

Talking to the reporters, RJD leader Bhai Virendra accused Manjhi of engaging in strong arm-twisting tactics saying despite his rhetoric, he was in no position to dictate how the RJD should act.

"Manjhi's pressure politics is not going to work on the RJD. It is obvious that he is being dictated by some other force but he is no position to tell us how we should act in the run up of the upcoming state Assembly elections," Bhai Virendra said.
